So I went to the midnight launch of SSBB because I'm a big dork. What do you think my prize could be after enduring the unwashed masses for who knows how long? Some one on one time w/ just me and Pit? Oh no. No no no no NO. Apparently something about the double density disc or some such tech jargon is confusing my Wii and, according to Nintendo, it needs to be fixed. AAAARRRRGGG!!!!!
So, the surprising thing is, Nintendo knows about all of this. When I called into their customer service line (after the GameStop monkeys knew nothing and bragged about how great their import copies were running) they had a whole branch of their automated phone tree dedicated to SSBB problems. If they knew these problems existed in quantities large enough to warrant phone calls why didn't they fix them?
Because they'd already delayed the game by almost two seasons is why.
This is the first case I've ever heard of where Nintendo delayed a game because it was broken, not to make it better. I'm going to get on the horn with Nintendo tomorrow (they're closed now) and figure out if I'm one in a million and a few other things.
To Nintendo's credit my repair will be free and I'm looking at the FedEx, 2-day label right now. I just need to get it in a box, mail it and wait one week (their estimate, not mine) for my Wii to return. _________________

I gave my Wii to FedEx on Monday. Nintendo says there is an expedited 7 day turn around for this issue so I guess I shouldn't be too mad at them. And after waiting 2 years since it was announced I guess I can wait less than 2 weeks for everything to get back.
Since they say it was an issue with my laser lens being dirty I'm curious how they're going to guarantee that it's going to stay clean. Of course Nintendo renews your 1 year warranty after every repair so if it happens again soon I won't have to worry too much about it. _________________

So FedEx got the box on Monday evening and by midnight it was on its way to Memphis, TN. In Memphis I'm guessing it got some lunch before it took off for Seattle where stayed the night before being delivered to Nintendo the next day.
Does the seven day turn around they mentioned mean seven days from when they get it? Seven business days? Is NOA working weekends to fix this problem? I was hoping they would respond to my request to talk with someone about it but no one got back to me. I have some other questions for them.
Oh well, I'll keep checking my tracking number to see if it makes its way back to me as fast as they got it there.

It came back Monday but I wasn't here to get the package. It really was 7 days from when it left here to when it came back. I'm impressed Nintendo.
I had no idea it was coming because it left by FedEx and came back by UPS but when you think of someone moving fast, Nintendo is them. They got their box on the 12th, by the evening of the 13th they were done w/ it and sent it back to me. _________________
